Description

How to draw a picture - by DonRondo (I don't like my randomly picked username, by the way, but what can I do other than stick with it). Pay attention to the following:

- perspective: make sure the characters and background objects stay in perspective with each other and... well. Everything.
- scale: keep the characters and background objects scaled in relation to each other
- character-backround -interaction: pay attention to how the characters are interacting with the background; for example avoid making the picture look like a character seems to float, in addition out of perspective, when it's supposed to lie on a floor
- lighting/shading: try to keep the lighting/shading dynamic and use a varying colour palette; using lighter/darker shades of the same tone is not a good way to shade, it only makes the picture look dull and plain
- primary light soure: make sure you know where the light is coming from to make the lighting  lively and realistic; also varying angles the light comes from can alter the mood of the picture completely and make it look a great deal more interesting
- secondary light source: ...like, what?
- anatomy: use references and study anatomy in order to avoid positions that would strain joints or otherwise be uncomfortable or outright anatomically impossible; also, keep body parts scaled in relation to others (or you could alternatively use "style" as an excuse)
- clothing and hair: study how fabric folds (different textiles behave differently) and how hair falls down; it doesn't look good if, for instance, strands of hair stick straight down when they should flow down a character's back

In other words, do NOT do what I did to this picture.
